The Death of Peter Pan

Written by Barry Lowe

Directed by Robert Chuter

May 15th – 26th at Chapel off Chapel

“To fall in love, really in love, would be an awfully big adventure…”

It’s Armistice Night, November, 1918, and Michael Llewelyn-Davies, adopted son of James Barrie, famed author of Peter Pan, has gone AWOL from Eton to celebrate the end of the war with friends. He runs into the mysterious Rupert Buxton, and the two of them become instant friends although it’s not until a fortuitous meeting in Paris months later that Michael realizes the danger the unpredictable Buxton poses to his sedate life. Buxton also turns up unannounced when Michael and his friends holiday on the remote Scottish island of Eilean Shona with James Barrie and his former wife. There, Michael and Buxton form a fatal attraction that will have devastating consequences for everyone on the island.

The Death Of Peter Pan was first produced by Fly-On-The-Wall Theatre, directed by Robert Chuter at La Mama Theatre with a return season at the Universal Theatre both in 1989.  Both seasons were critically and audience acclaimed and it nominated for three Green Room Awards.
