For the past few months actor Ailis Logan and I have been working in collaboration with Adventures in Genre to create the web series, Black Sheep Gemu, due to launch later this year June.
Black sheep Gemu is a situational comedy set in Queens, New York, based around the lives of two socially awkward game developers. The series follows their lives and comedic antics after they develop a hugely successful interactive anti bullying game worth over $2 million dollars.
I play Joey Lucciano, a computer game coder and comic book collector with OCD tendencies. The talented Ailis Logan plays Clare Bernstein, a boisterous, disorganised, information architect, with a love for gaming. Together, they are two underdogs trying to program their own place in the world.
Stay tuned for more information.
Jordan has been cast as Marc Christian in the rehearsed reading of Playing Rock Hudson by Cameron Lukey for 2013 Midsumma’s Playing-in-The-Raw.
“Hudson was not an educated man, but that very beautiful body of his was putty in my hands.”
PLAYING ROCK HUDSON
By Cameron Lukey, directed by Ben Steel
featuring Jordan Armstrong, Christopher Pender, Michelle Brooks, Shane Savage, Jonathan Dyer, Kieran McShane, David Morris, Andrew Murrell, Chris Gaffney + Jeremy Kewley
One of America’s most popular movie stars throughout the 50s + 60s, Hudson’s death in 1985, a year after having been diagnosed with AIDS, made headlines the world over. He had been the first public figure to succumb to the disease + his death inspired a movement – led by friend Elizabeth Taylor – that helped shine a light on the emerging epidemic. Three years later, Hudson’s former lover Marc Christian sued the actor’s estate on the grounds of reckless endangerment, claiming that Hudson had put his life at risk by withholding the true nature of his disease for the last year of their relationship. But was Christian really the love of Hudson’s life or was he a blackmailing hustler out to play Rock Hudson for all he was worth?

In September Jordan was cast as Ned Rivers (pictured left) in the Deakin University short film Emilia, directed by Ashini Kayanaka.
Set in the late 1800’s, Ned Rivers returns home to his wife in Australia after serving 2 years fighting in the Boer war. Expecting everything to return to how it was prior to his departure, he soon finds that everything has and will change forever.
With a stellar cast, including the wonderful Lara Marshall, and an excellent crew, this short film is set to be one of Deakin University’s best yet.
Jordan was cast in the short film Shadows Over A Neon earlier this year, a Sci-fi/Noir written and directed by Matthew Freitas, which is due to start production on the 10th of September.
He’ll be playing the character JT, a cop who is hell bent on revenge after his sister is brutally murdered.
Stay posted for more news and production stills.
On the 7th of July Jordan joined Maxfilm playing a cameo role in their film for the 48hr Eco Film Challenge along side actors Christain Heath and Sharon Johal.
Now if you haven’t heard of these challenges before, you’re asked to write, shoot and edit a short film up to a maximum of 7 mins long in line with certain critera.
This years participants were asked to make a film that addresses “Greening Your Ride” highlighting how the world’s supply of oil is becoming more scarce, more expensive and what people are doing about it.
There will be an award ceremony on the 27th of July with the winner’s film being sent to The Cannes Film Festival along with a cash prize. Fingers crossed!
After months of conflicting schedules Jordan finally got involved in the web series Flat Whites based here in Melbourne. Flat Whites is Drama Comedy that revolves around coffee, guys & girls produced by Max De bowen and his company Max Film.
Maxfilm produce an episode of Flat Whites a week. Each episode is generally shot over 4 hours and the cast usually get an outline of a script last minute. This sometimes lends itself to an episode depending on the situation and the improv but not always. There are some great episodes in this series to date, albeit a few duds also. All credit due to Maxfilm for writing, producing, shooting and editing an episode each week without fail. The star of the show Christian Heath is definitely an actor to keep your eyes on.
They’re up to their forty something episode and won best Web Series at the LA Web Series festival 2012. Look out for the episodes ‘Father F****r, and Hungover. They’re definitely their best two episodes to date.
Jordan was recently cast in Fat Kid Films next Short film, A Cup of Sugar, screenplay written by Jane Miller.
